Way back in 2001, I took my first yoga class as an escape from my stressful job in downtown Boston. I happened to end up in a Kundalini class and while I didn’t end up sticking with that style of yoga, I was immediately intrigued.
Like many of you, I floated in and out of my practice for a few years. Early on, my practice was mostly Hatha Yoga. Upon moving to Southern NH, there weren’t a lot of options besides hot Power Yoga at the time. I had a love/hate relationship with it and realized a lot was missing from my practice. I knew there had to be more to this thing called yoga other than sweating, breathing and getting into crazy positions!
Once I became pregnant with my first son, I took a prenatal yoga series offered by the local hospital, but again felt that something was missing. About a year later is when I decided to dedicate the time and energy into studying this ancient and beautiful practice.
My mind was blown and I’ve never stopped learning! I lead my classes and workshops the way I wish I had been taught as a beginning yogi. I especially love bringing in the full 8-limbed path of Yoga, introducing deeper concepts, breaking down poses and empowering students to be their best version of themselves.
I obtained my 200-hour training in 2009 at Frog Pond Yoga Centre in Princeton, MA, where I studied under Shanti Diane Featherstone and was inducted into Dr. V.S. Rao’s lineage. I later completed my 300-hour training in 2015 and was Director of the Yoga Teacher Training Program at Banyan Tree Yoga for 6 years. I am a Reiki Master Teacher and often incorporate Reiki energy into my classes to enhance my students’ experiences. I am passionate about prenatal yoga and adore building natural heat in Vinyasa classes, but I also enjoy slowing things down in Yin, Restorative, Slow Flow and Hatha Yoga. In 2011, I founded Banyan Tree Yoga in Nashua, NH, and managed the studio until 2020. I was voted Best Yoga Instructor Nashua in the Hippo’s Best of 2013 and 2014 Readers Polls and led the way for numerous awards and accolades the studio received. While taking a step back from studio ownership to focus on my family and my own practice, I am excited to continue to guide students along their journey of Yoga.
I am here to guide you as you listen to your inner guru. I hope you will join me!
